GERING, Neb. – Potatoes will be the featured crop at the 21st annual Harvest Festival at the Legacy of the Plains Museum near Gering. The two-day event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16 – 17, on the Old Oregon Trail, just east of the Scotts Bluff National Monument.
Visitors may pick their own potatoes and watch vintage demonstrations of hand, horse and tractor equipment as they plant, harvest and process potatoes. The demonstrations will be held morning and afternoon
both days.
