July is many things, it’s summertime, it’s hot, and there are lots of fun and silly things to do and celebrate. Some of the best things to celebrate in July are National Ice Cream Month, National Picnic Month and Air Conditioning Appreciation Days.
July also celebrates National Doghouse Repair Month and National Share A Sunset With Your Lover Month. This makes sense. If the guy is being a sweetheart, he gets to share a sunset. If he doesn’t, he’s in the doghouse.
But there’s one celebration in July that doesn’t make sense at all. It’s National Lasagna Awareness Month. Are you kidding? Who’s not aware of Lasagna? I have known people who don’t like chocolate, blueberries, coconut or cheese, but nobody doesn’t like lasagna. Sometimes they make it with weird ingredients, like spinach or eggplant, and sometimes they commit a terrible sin and make it without meat, but still…it’s lasagna. It’s as much a national food as hot dogs and apple pie.
