Wyoming Farmer’s Market conference set for Casper

CASPER, Wyo. – A chance to network with farmers, market managers and vendors while learning from top pros is all on deck for the annual Wyoming Farmer’s Market Association conference and meeting.

The conference is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept., 28-29 at the Ag Resource and Learning Center located at 2011 Fairgrounds Road in Casper Registration for the conference is $50 for both days, and includes lunches.

The program will kick off with “Foodpreneur” Marty Butts, owner of Small Potatoes, a national marketing, advocacy and consulting firm that specializes in working with small scale and start-up food product companies seeking to launch and grow their businesses. Marty’s program will include techniques to start production, as well as how to market and sell products.

Also on the program will be Cole Emke, discussing “Value Adding Products in Wyoming.” For growers interested in greenhouses, a “Dome Greenhouse Building Workshop” will be offered Friday afternoon. 

Saturday will feature presentations on mirco-greens, bee and honey production, online marketing, undercover veggies, grape growing, heritage orchard establishment, weed and pest management, and grant writing. 

Lunch will be included each day, with the annual meeting held during lunch on Saturday. Cost of the two-day conference is $50. Co-sponsors of the conference include the Wyoming Department of Ag Specialty Crop Program, the Wyoming Small Business Development Center Network and the Wyoming Business Council.
