Women in Agribusiness nominations sought

BOSTON, Mass. – Nominations are currently being accepted for the Demeter Award of Excellence, presented annually by the Women in Agribusiness group.

“We’re looking for the best and the brightest, those with ideas that have changed business, motivated colleagues or removed barriers to success,” said Joy O’Shaughnessy, managing director of Women in Agribusiness at the HighQuest Group. “We are looking for women who have achieved excellence in their field or demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the agribusiness industry.”

Criteria for consideration for the Demeter Award include minimum 10 year’s experience in the ag and/or food industry. Potential nominees should be women who serve as a positive example to other women in the industry, breaks down barriers and serves as a resource for others, according to a press release from the group.

The Demeter Award is named after the goddess of the harvest from ancient Greek mythology. This is the fifth year the group has presented the Demeter Award.

This year’s recipient will be recognized the the 2018 Women in Agribusiness Summit, set for Sept. 24-26 at the Hilton Denver City Center in Denver, Colo.

The entry form and guidelines for submissions are available on the Women in Agribusiness website, www.womeninag.com/demeter. Deadline for nominations is July 20. 

There is no limit to the number of entries and self-nominations will be accepted.
