Van Mark scheduled for Wyoming Wheat Growers meeting

ALBIN, Wyo. – The 2018 Annual Meeting of the Wyoming Wheat Growers Association will begin with free registration at 8 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, at the Albin Community Building.
Morning activities kick off at 8:30 a.m. with a welcome by association president Derek Jackson. He will be followed by National Association of Wheat Growers President
Gordon Stoner.
An exhibitor lightning round at 9:30 a.m. will lead into a break at 9:40 a.m., when participants will have an opportunity to visit with exhibitors.

Rhonda Brandt, Wyoming state statistician, will discuss “Who uses NASS Data and how it’s important to you,” beginning at 10:30 a.m. This presentation will also include a panel consisting of a Wyoming Farm Service Agency Executive Director Lois Van Mark, Brian Lee from the University of Wyoming, Crystal Frank with the Rural RMA, and Jackson representing the Wyoming Wheat Growers.
Keith Kennedy from the Wyoming Wheat Commission will give a brief review of legislative news at 11:15 a.m., followed with the presentation of Resolutions and the election of officers, and door prize drawings.
Afternoon activities will begin at 1 p.m. with a presentation by Vincent Peterson of US Wheat, followed by another presentation by Kennedy regarding the Wyoming Wheat Commission.
Assistant Professor Carrie Eberle will give an update on projects at the University of Wyoming James C. Hageman Sustainable Agriculture Research and Extension Center, including reports on variety trials and a hail study.
The day is scheduled to end at 3 p.m. with another door prize drawing.
Participants are encouraged to pay their membership dues at this meeting where a drawing will be held for a chance to win a free one year membership. Cost for new association members is $50 for the first year.
