Rural Development officials featured at NCMA

BROKEN BOW, Neb. – A pair of top U.S. Department of Agriculture officials will be featured speakers during the annual Nebraska City/County Management Association convention here, June 12-14.
Paul Bartlett, USDA Rural Development’s Multi-Family Housing Program Director, and Community Programs Specialist Natalie Furrow will talk about ‘USDA Resources for Rural Communities’ at the 2017 Annual NCMA Conference.  Following their talks, Bartlett and Furrow will be available at the USDA display booth to provide information on more than 40 programs available through Rural Development.  
Other topics of discussion for the conference will include:

• What Happened in Ferguson, Mo., with former Ferguson City Manager, John Shaw;
• Sustainable communities with Dr. Leighter, Creighton
University;
• Rural Transit Project with Dr. Blair and Dr. Diechert, UNO, and;
• Human Trafficking Awareness, featuring Leticia Bonifas, Central Nebraska Trafficking and Immigration Outreach; Meredith McDowell, Mental Health Therapist, and; Leeann Nielsen, Salvation Army’s Safe-T Specialist.
The conference will be held June 12-14 at the Nebraska One Box Convention Center, 2750 South 27th Avenue in Broken Bow.
