SCOTTSBLUFF — The 2021 Dry Edible Bean Day was held on Feb. 10 starting at 1 p.m. via Zoom. The event featured several industry representatives as well as a presentation from United States Congressman Adrian Smith.
There were many topics covered during the event including the western bean cutworm, water and irrigation management and managing palmer amaranth.
Smith spoke about the vitality of the input of dry bean growers moving forward and that he was excited for the future of trade in the dry bean industry. Smith also addressed the USMCA trade agreement, building future trade partnerships, and water management.
Other presentations at the event included soil and nutrition management, optimized nitrogen management for dry bean production, Nebraska pulse crop diseases, and an ag economics update.
