The Year of the Steer

Posted

All right cattle people, listen up because this is your year! 2021 is going to be fabulous. It’s going to bring great success. Things are finally going to go your way because 2021 is the year of the Steer!

Well, okay…in the Chinese zodiac 2021 is the year of the Ox, but an ox is just an overgrown steer, right? And according to the internet (so you know this is reliable information) “The year of the Ox will be a positive and productive year when hard work is rewarded.”

Also, it’s a year when problems get solved “with discipline and extra effort.”

In other words, it’s going to be a great year to be in the cattle business! If you own cattle, you know what hard work is. There’s just something in every bull, cow or calf that makes them think that humans are wimpy little twerps who need to be taken down a peg. Cattle are great for teaching about discipline and extra effort.

But in an Ox year, it’s time to reap the benefits of all your hard work! Maybe you’ve been working for years on fixing up your crowding pens. This is the year you will actually get to use them! Or maybe you’ve been working at getting higher quality seedstock. This is the year you will see it. The bulls and cows will be fat and content and the calves will grow better than weeds! No matter what you’ve been working on, this is the year that all your hard work is rewarded! Hooray!

But even if you don’t have cattle, you might be in for a great year. You might have been born an Ox! Besides 2021, past Ox years were 1937, 1949, 1961, 1985, 1997, and 2009.

Ox people who are born in these years are known for diligence, dependability, strength and determination. They are patriotic, they have ideals and ambitions in life and they are not much influenced by other people. You might know someone like this, someone who is so dependable that you never have to worry about them. Basically, Oxen are rocks!

On the other hand, an Ox is not good at communicating. In fact, often they don’t think it’s worthwhile to even exchange ideas with others. They are stubborn and like to do things their own way and they are not much influenced by people. You might know someone like this, someone who is so hard headed and so stubborn that trying to change their minds is a big, fat waste of time. Basically, Oxen are rocks.

But no matter if you are an Ox or not, if you have cattle this is your year. In fact, if you ever had cattle, or if you live near cattle or if you just like to eat beef, this is your year! It’s the year of the Ox, which means it’s the year of the Steer! The year of the Steer means it’s the year of Beef! And when it’s the year of Beef, it’s going to be great all year long!
