SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – Scottsbluff FFA Chapter attended the State FFA Convention April 3-5 in Lincoln, Neb.
Twenty-seven FFA members competed in nine different events. The ag mechanics team of Jayden Allen, Cody Hagen, Blake Hill, and Jakob Ratliff received 11th place overall. The floriculture team received 33rd place overall. The team consisted of Emzie Coop, Anna Teson, Kaidynce Lygeros, and Graham Kovorick.
The junior livestock judging team of Allison Carpenter, Jade Painter, Macee McConkey, and Whitney Castillo-Powell received 26th place overall.
The senior livestock judging team of Lauren Nichols – who placed fourth individually – MarLee Neu, Carson Wilmot, and Emily Carpenter placed fifth overall.
The livestock management team of Kaden Bradley, Emily Carpenter, Neveah Heinhold, Lauren Nichols, and Kailey Pinney placed first overall.
The meats evaluation team of Jerrod Fulk, Blake Hill, Auston Adams, and Jordan Fisher received 39th overal. The nursery and landscape team of Emzie Coop, Anna Teson, Kaidynce
Lygeros, and Graham Kovorick received 29th place overall.
The vet science team of Aaliyah Segura, Addison Wright, Emily Carpenter, and Lauren
Nichols placed seventh overall.
The welding team John Spehar, Jakob Ratliff, and Trayton Travnicek received 11th overall. Spehar also placed second individually in SMAW and Ratliff brought home fifth-place individually in OA.
Lauren Nichols received her Nebraska State FFA State Degree on April 5. The State Degree requires extensive record keeping for Supervised Agricultural Experience, community
involvement and activities in various capacities as an FFA member.
