Panhandle students receive scholarships

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – During its recent board of directors meeting, the Oregon Trail Community Foundation awarded $87,650 in scholarships to regional students. 

The Agri-Business Scholarships for $2,000 was awarded to Jacob Jenkins of Mitchell High School and to Bailee Lake of Bayard High School. 

Zoe Holscher of Scottsbluff received the Laurie Haugen Educational Scholarship for $1,500. Zoe is a 2016 graduate of Scottsbluff High School and is currently attending Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.

The Panhandle Drug-Free Youth Scholarship in the amount of $500 was awarded to Kenzey Kanno of Mitchell High School.

The $1,000 Alan Dill Scholarship has been awarded to Jenna Balthazor of Gering.

The Clara E. Muehlberger Scholarship in the amount of $4,000 was awarded to Ian Carrier of Scottsbluff and Rachel Rawlings of Gering.  Adeline Hobbs of Mitchell received a $2,000 award, and Lauren Gasseling of Hemingford, Karissa Benavides of Bridgeport, Karsen Hunter of Bayard, Kylie Stuart of Bayard, Conner McCracken of Scottsbluff, Jacob Horstman of Hemingford, Makenna Douglas of Sidney, Cade Lewis of Sidney, Danielle Higgins of Dalton, and Caitlin Pittman of Gering, each received $1,000 awards from the Clara Muehlberger Scholarship.

Receiving $1,000 from the Clara E. Muehlberger College/Non-Traditional Scholarship was Kollyn Weimer of Sidney and Yarrow Corymb of Scottsbluff.  

The Lawrence and Pauline Lemons Scholarships in the amount of $4,000 was awarded to Ava Marez of Gering and to Keegan Reifschneider of Scottsbluff.

The Oregon Trail Community Foundation – Atkins Bequest Scholarship of $750 was awarded to Anna Yanke of Scottsbluff.
