SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – 21st Century Equipment, LLC, 21st Century Leasing and 21st Century Water Technologies participated in National Random Acts of Kindness Day by collecting food donations to feed hungry families during the week of February 17 at each of our 16 retail locations and corporate offices in Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado.
America’s Heartland is known for producing the food that feeds the world, yet there are many people here in our own backyard who are hungry and struggling to make ends meet. When 21st Century Equipment employees learned of this, they eagerly agreed to participate in a Random Act of Kindness Day food drive by collecting food at each of their store locations for distribution at local food pantries. More than four tons of non-perishable food was collected in the effort, including 20 cases of beans from Kelley Bean Company in Scottsbluff, to the delight of food pantry workers.
“We were extremely surprised and excited by the donation from 21st Century,” Pam Hernandez of Rising Up Client Choice Food Pantry in Ft. Morgan, Colorado, told us. “It’s a slow time of year for donations, and we were blessed by the amount and variety of foods donated.”
Our employees were also moved by the generosity of people in their communities as the donations rolled in. Many plan to make Random Act of Kindness Day into ongoing “Regular Acts of Kindness” by continuing to donate food on a regular basis to help feed families in need across our region. We’re proud of that commitment, and it’s a reminder that encourages all of us to help those around us who need a helping hand.
