RAPID CITY, S.D. – October 7 through October 10, 2020 – 4-H members and leaders from Scotts Bluff County joined youth and adults from Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming for the 83rd Annual Western Junior Livestock Show and the 58th Annual Western Family and Consumer Science Show in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The Western Junior Livestock Show had over 1800 entries with 359 youth entered. Youth participated by showing cattle, sheep, swine, and goats. The following are the 2020 4-H exhibitors from Scotts Bluff County.
Colton Bomberger – Market meat goat doe received a purple ribbon and blue ribbon. Market meat goat weather received a purple ribbon. Meat breed – ewe lamb received purple ribbon.
Ethan Bomberger – Charolais feeder steer received a blue ribbon, and Other breed feeder steer received a blue ribbon. Market meat goat doe received a two-purple ribbon. Champion Meat Type Ram Lamb received purple ribbon. Meat type market ewe lamb received purple ribbon. Meat type market wether lamb received two-purple and blue ribbon
Taylor Engel – Red Angus feeder steer received a purple ribbon
Madison Engel - Red Angus feeder steer received a blue ribbon
Sydney Huckfeldt – Charolais feeder heifer – Champion Charolais Heifer and a purple; Charolais feeder steer – Champion Charolais Steer
Caylie Garcia – Junior Doe goat received a purple ribbon. Meat breed – ewe lamb received purple. Meat type market wether lamb received blue
Dillon Russell – Maine feeder steer received a purple ribbon.
Jake Wilkinson - Senior Yearling Never Freshened – Lamancha received a blue. Beginner Dairy Goat Showman received a purple ribbon.
Jessica Wilkinson – Chianina feeder heifer – Reserve Champion Heifer and a purple; Futurity Beef – received a purple. Champion Senior Dairy Goat Showman and purple ribbon. Senior Yearling Never Freshened – Lamancha goat received a purple. 3-5 year old doe – Lamancha goat received a blue ribbon.
Justine Wilkinson – Hereford feeder steer – Champion Hereford Steer and a purple; English Cross Feeder Steer receivied a purple. Champion Junior Dairy Goat Showman and purple. Senior Yearling Never Freshened – Lamancha received a blue.
The 2020 Family Consumer Science Show had 175 contestants with over 450 entries. The show is volunteer run by a group of people from South Dakota and Wyoming. The contests are bread baking, meat identification, family life photo, scrapbook pages, home living, place setting, fashion revue both sewn and purchased, public presentation, ingredient measuring, Family and Consumer Sciences judging, Produce ID and judging, and a Family and Consumer Sciences Skill-a Thon. The public viewed the exhibits and contests the Saturday contests were followed by an honoree tea, public fashion show and awards presentation.

Brooklyn Creech, Cloverbud division: competed in Produce, Meat ID; and Skill-A-Thon receiving a red
Gage Creech, Cloverbud division: competed in Produce, Meat ID; and Skill-A-Thon receiving a blue
Hunter Creech, Beginner division: competed in Measuring receiving a purple ribbon; Produce receiving a blue ribbon; Meat ID receiving a blue ribbon; and Skill-A-Thon receiving blue
Jake Wilkinson, Beginner division: competing in Measuring receiving a purple ribbon; Produce receiving a blue ribbon and Meat ID receiving a blue ribbon.
Justine Wilkinson, Junior division received the Top Junior in Meat Identification and a purple ribbon
Jessica Wilkinson, Senior division: competed in Meat ID receiving a blue ribbon.
Cody Creech, Adult: received a blue ribbon in Produce.
Natalie Creech, Adult: Produce, blue; Skill-A-Thon, purple
